Hi, I’m Fiona, free-lance writer, aspiring novelist, mother, trouble shooter, dog walker and the owner of a myriad of other job titles some of which I didn’t volunteer for. I also have a habit of escaping into a book whenever possible, preferably Jane Austen but generally anything happy that makes me smile.
More years ago than I care to count, I studied Combined Arts at the University of Durham and then went on to take an MA in English at Oxford Brookes University. Happy times at both of these uni’s – would love to go back to those carefree days 🙂 I then worked in various jobs, publishing, marketing and then admin to fit round the children. Bringing up the girls is the best thing ever and I love them dearly but writing has always been my passion and since my childhood, I have jotted snippets and ideas down in notebooks whenever I can. Somehow it was an unspoken wish that was filed away at the back of my mind. Then I realised, having hit the big 40 that it was now or never to follow my dreams so I started scribbling away seriously and on a regular basis.
Writing is my favourite past time and I love having the opportunity to entertain people with my work. To date I have had various articles published in magazines and I am a regular contributor to several publications from Jane Austen’s Regency World to Caravan Magazine. Always keen to take on new writing projects, and fulfilling a lifelong ambition, last year I completed my first novel – a romantic comedy on an Austenesque theme. I am now working on my second book. As well as these other projects, I am really excited to have recently become a member of The Romantic Novelist’s Association New Writers’ Scheme.
Please do get in touch if you require a writer or if you would like more information about my work.
